FUGUE, a collaboration between urban designer Martina Germana’ and photographer Riccardo De Vecchi.
Fugue uses psychogeography—the study of how the physical environment influences behaviors, and perceptions—to engage with cities in unconventional ways. Through walking, exploration, and structured spatial frameworks, we reveal overlooked aspects of urban spaces and offer fresh insights for transformation. This approach stems from the belief that while much is said about the future of cities, there is an urgent need for decisive action. Fugue's methodology combines field research, analytical rigor, artistic exploration, and structured outputs. Our work generates visually engaging materials—leveraging the power of photography—and precise data through comprehensive mapping and urban analysis.
